Steve Wallis and the Lib Dems want to clean up our town

Anti-social behaviour, graffiti, pot holes, dumped rubbish and litter are too common a sight across Eastbourne says local campaigner Steve Wallis. Steve has launched a major campaign to clean up the Devonshire part of Eastbourne.

Steve Wallis said, "Every week local residents contact me about the state of our area asking for action to be taken. It is time we had a Council that took pride in keeping our area clean, tidy and free from anti-social behaviour."

The Lib Dems are pledging to take action to clean up our town if elected to run Eastbourne Borough Council on Thursday 4th May. They also want to put more police on patrol to crack down on crime and anti-social behaviour.

Steve Wallis said, "I was born in the town and am proud to live in Eastbourne. A Lib Dem Council would take action to end the neglect in our town. We will build an Eastbourne that every local resident can be proud of."

More police is vital

Anti-social behaviour is a growing concern for many local people. Residents living in and around the town centre are often the worst affected by the problems.Ming Campbell, the new Lib Dem leader, has made tackling crime and anti-social behaviour one of Lib Dem's top election priorities this year.

Ming Campbell said, "No one should be afraid to leave their home, to walk down the street at night, or to let their children play outside. Priorities include more police, better drug treatment and action to give local people more of a say in the policing of their area."
