Residents from the Little Ratton association had their petition demanding action be taken to repair the roads and pavements in their area presented to the County Council this week by Cllr Beryl Healy.
Cllr Healy said: "After the Little Ratton residents association contacted Stephen Lloyd, we had a meeting with them to discuss what needs to be done in their area. I was genuinely shocked to hear that East Sussex County Council have pretty much ignored this part of Ratton. The roads were in a dreadful state and many of the pavements were almost as bad. Consequently, I was very happy to formally present a petition on their behalf to the County Council on Tuesday. I hope ESCC take notice of it, not least as over 85% of the residents signed the petition."
Mrs Sandy Hagler, Treasurer of the Little Ratton Residents Association added: "In all the time I have lived in this Close I feel we have been ignored by the County Council, despite constants efforts on our part. Frankly its only when Stephen became involved that things started to move in a positive direction for us. I am very grateful that Cllr Healy is presenting our petition to the County Council. I only hope that now they'll take more notice of Little Ratton residents. We are council tax payers as well."
