Conservative controlled Weladen District Council is planning to build 220 new homes on green land behind Oak Tree Lane, Halvellyn Drive, Penrith Way and Pennine Way.
Langney's local Liberal Democrat Team of Alan Shuttleworth, Troy Tester and Harun Miah are fighting plans set out in Wealden's proposed core strategy development plan which would see 650 new homes built around Stone Cross with 220 built behind existing homes in Langney.
Councillor Troy Tester will be fighting to get Eastbourne Borough Council to officially oppose the plans at the Borough's Cabinet Meeting on 23rd March and local Lib Dems will be taking a robust stand with Wealden Council.
Local campaigner Alan Shuttleworth said "the building of these home would place unaaceptable pressure on already stretched local infrastructure and services in Eastbourne. These new developments would have to be accessed via small estate roads in Langney which can not cope with this amount of traffic.
Local councillor Harun Miah said 'We are asking Wealden District Council to think again about this. We do not believe that the proposed development should come south of the railway line and would ask all concerned local residents to make their objections heard.'
