Princess Diana Memorial Garden Spring Launch

April 19, 2013 10:17 AM

In Hampden Park last week the well-established Princess Diana Memorial Garden was opened by the MP, ready for the print and summer exhibition season. The garden has been planted and maintained from the beginning by head Gardener Mr Bertie Wilmshurst.

He built the garden by Hampden Park station 17 years ago to concentrate the tragic death of Diana, Princess of Wales.

Stephen Lloyd MP said: "it was a pleasure to cut the ribbon and open this year's horticultural display that has been created by Bertie, with the support of member of the Eastbourne in Bloom community and celebrate the life and times of Princess Di. The dedication he has put into this project is clear when you walk around and look at the plants. I'd also like to thank Southern Rail for their longstanding support for Bertie's wonderful creation."
