Following a meeting with Stephen Lloyd MP, Howard Wardle, director of Eastbourne Foodbank has agreed to join the 100x3 work experience initiative.

The initiative, which aims to provide work experience placements for the long term unemployed in Eastbourne has already reached its target of finding 100 new individual placements.

Stephen said "I am really pleased that Howard has agreed to offer work experience placements to people who are long term unemployed. Placements already offered via the 100x3 programme are proving to be transformational. Learning the skills to get back into work is really important and I'm delighted that Howard has agreed to join us."

Stephen added "My meeting with Howard was very productive in looking at addressing ways in which the causes people turn to Foodbanks are addressed and we are working together to address these both locally and in Parliament."

Howard Wardle added "We are delighted to be part of the 100x3 programme as we are committed to helping people gain confidence, learn new skills and generally improve their situation".

119 work experience opportunities have already been secured in Eastbourne, with 77 individuals starting their 100 hour placements. The programme aims to find new placements across the town to help people re-learn the skills and discipline required after being long term unemployed.
