MP calls on local residents to share experiences of DGH in September

August 27, 2014 11:38 AM

Stephen Lloyd MP has called on Eastbourne & Willingdon residents to share their experiences of the DGH in advance of the Care Quality Commission (CQC)'s inspection of the East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

The CQC are holding two listening events in advance of the inspections, where members of the public will be able to tell the inspection panel about their views and experiences of the Trust. The views and experiences will help inspectors decide what to look at when they inspect the hospitals and community services run by the Trust in September.

The formal inspection of ESHT will start on Monday 8th September. The listening events will be held the week before on Thursday 4th September at the International Lawn Tennis Centre in Eastbourne from 6pm.

For those unable to attend the event, the CQC can be contacted at their website http://www.cqc.org.uk/share-your-experience-finder or on their helpline, 03000 616161.

Stephen said: "This is an important opportunity for everyone in Eastbourne to let the CQC know exactly what they think and to share their experiences of our own DGH. I would like to ask everyone to save the date in their diary so that the inspectors can hear from the widest possible cross-section of people across Eastbourne and beyond, so we can make sure they understand the strength of feeling we all have for our hospital and the vital services it provides, and the very real concern many of us have of the patient impact following recent core service changes."
