Eastbourne District General Hospital

Protect Paediatrics at the DGH!

Hospital bosses are planning to shake-up paediatric services at the DGH from January 2024.

East Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust have published proposals that bring the future of the DGH’s Short Stay Paediatric Assessment Unit (SSPAU) into question.

Local clinicians have expressed concerns about these plans.

Some are worried about impact on the quality of children’s healthcare. They’re also worried some children might instead have to go to Hastings for some care.

Neither of these things would be acceptable.

Josh Babarinde, a number of clinicians, and local campaigners, are therefore calling on hospital bosses to:

  1. Halt the plans immediately; and
  2. Launch a full consultation so families, clinicians, children’s professionals, and residents can have a say and protect paediatrics at the DGH.

Will you help protect paediatrics by signing the petition?
